Frog – Reflex Marine

Sparrows BSM is the South American representative of Reflex Marine, the company that manufactures the Frog Type Transfer Capsule.

We have partnered with Reflex Marine in order to make available to Brazil the supply of the FROG-6 people transport baskets, which protects from the four major transfer risks: fall, collision, heavy landings and immersion.

The transfer of personnel is essential for many offshore operations. When using FROG-6 it is possible to: Increase the safety and protection of passengers; increase operational resources; reduce maintenance time; reduce the cost.

The Frog-6 is the Navy-approved capsule (DPC) in the Navy’s latest update Norman 5 (12/23/16) was included in Annex 4-A Cap-4, which describes the new standards for (page 238), where it is advised that staff transfer baskets should have seat and floats, among other new features. It is worth noting that this document also states on page 133, 0408 – PERSONNEL TRANSFER a) Transitional provisions, that the old baskets approved in accordance with the norm NBR ABNT 10876/1989 can only be used until June 30, 2018.

Some feature of FROG:

Stainless steel frame with a robust damping assembly with internal springs mounted under a central column
Anti-slip designer, which provides extra protection in case of passenger crashes
Low center of gravity, which helps to land on ships / platforms with rough seas and uneven surfaces
Excellent buoyancy and self alignment if immersed in water
CE approval
The FROG transfer capsule also underwent extensive impact tests developed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) as part of the CE certification, fulfilling the requirements of LOLER 98 in the North Sea in the United Kingdom.

FROG is used by large companies such as BP, Shell, Statoil, Queiroz Galvão, Prosafe, Transocean, among others around the world.
